Liberal MP Calls B.C. Border Guards "Wimps"

OTTAWA - Conservative MP James Moore is calling for Liberal MP Derek Lee to apologize for calling B.C. border guards “a bunch of wimps” in the House of Commons yesterday.  “These brave men and women protect our safety, fight crime and put their lives on the line everyday.  They have show more courage on any given day that Derek Lee has shown in 18 years in Parliament,” says Moore.

Lee caused an uproar in Parliament yesterday when, during Question Period, he called border guards in B.C. "wimps" for walking off the job over the weekend.  “That's because they are a bunch of wimps,” shouted the Liberal MP a number of times to the stunned amazement of onlookers.  

“Derek Lee should apologize for his irresponsible comments.  He knows better, and our brave border guards deserve better than this kind of cheap shot,” says Moore.
