MP Moore & Cancer Foundation to Host Charity Golf Tournament
COQUITLAM — Tri-Cities MP James Moore and the B.C. Cancer Foundation will
host the "James Moore Charity Golf Tournament" on Wednesday,
September 5th, 2007 at the Westwood Plateau Golf & Country Club.
"We have all been touched by the tragedy of cancer, and this
tournament is a way for people to donate to a great cause while
enjoying a great day of golf on one of B.C.'s great courses," says
Moore.
Proceeds from the
James Moore Charity Golf Tournament will support the Clinical Trials
team in the B.C. Cancer Agency Advanced Therapeutics Department.
This team works with clinicians on research studies of new
anticancer treatments; specialized laboratory tests to determine
both the safety of a new drug and to understand how it works.
The B.C. Cancer Agency Clinical Trials Research Program actively
develops new therapies for treating cancer patients. It is
only through clinical trial research of new treatments that we will
improve the outcomes of more patients with cancer.
