$1 million For Rocky Point Park From Federal Government
PORT MOODY
- Today Port Moody-Westwood-Port Coquitlam MP James Moore will
participate in the official celebration of the redevelopment Rocky
Point Park with Port Moody Mayor Joe Trasolini and MLA Iain Black.
The park's renovations received $1 million from the Federal
Government through the Canada-British Columbia Infrastructure
Program of Western Economic Diversification.
"Rocky Point Park is a jewel of the Tri-Cities," says Moore.
"I, and our Conservative government, are committed to Canada's parks
and responsible development. The renovations at Rocky Point
Park have been a great success and I'm glad our government has been
part of that success."
This
is the second announcement this summer by Moore that will improve
Rocky Point Park. In July Moore
announced new regulations by the Conservative Government that will
protect Rocky Point Park, Burrard Inlet, Indian Arm, Bedwell Bay and
all of Canada's coastal waters from the dumping of sewage, garbage,
oil and other pollutants. Among the regulations is a complete
ban on the dumping of untreated sewage from all boats and ships
along Port Moody's coastal waters.
Concluded Moore, "Tri-City residents love Rocky Point Park and
want it protected and improved. Through new environmental laws
and this investment of $1 million into the park, I am proud to have
done my best to deliver for Port Moody, Rocky Point Park and my
constituents."
