Moore Adds Pacific Gateway and Olympic Portfolios
PORT
MOODY
- MP James Moore,
already serving as the Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of
Public Works, has been given added responsibilities of being the
Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for the Pacific Gateway and
the Vancouver-Whistler Olympics. "I'm humbled to have the
confidence of Prime Minister Harper to take on these added
responsibilities on behalf of our government," says Moore.
As a
member of the Official Opposition Moore served as both the Transport
critic and the Amateur Sport critic which will allow him to settle
into his new roles immediately.
While
it is very rare in Canadian history for a Member of Parliament to
serve as the Parliamentary Secretary to two different Cabinet
Ministers, Moore says he is ready for the challenges ahead.
"Making both the
Pacific Gateway project and the 2010 Olympics a success is crucial
for British Columbia and all Canadians," says Moore. "I am
excited to be working towards results on these important files for
Canadians."
