Throne Speech Marks Great Beginning For New Government

OTTAWA - "Today's Throne Speech was exactly what Canadians have wanted for years: a clear agenda of precise commitments for a better Canada," says Conservative MP James Moore.  "After 13 years of Liberals, and 18 months of dithering under Paul Martin, Stephen Harper is showing Canadians what real leadership looks like."

The Throne Speech, delivered by Governor General
Michaëlle Jean today in Ottawa, reaffirmed the five priorities of the new Conservative government.  They are: 1) passing a new Federal Accountability Act, 2) lowering taxes by cutting the GST, 3) helping families by providing more choice in childcare, 4) passing new laws to get tough on crime, and 5) addressing healthcare
wait times.

"The message of this Throne Speech is clear: we are going to do what we said we would do," concluded Moore.
