Moore
Excited for New Parliament
OTTAWA
- After weeks of preparation, hiring new staff, and hours of
briefings, local Conservative MP James Moore is excited about the
start of the
new Parliament. "In the recent election Canadians
voted for change, and the new Conservative government is ready to
deliver that positive change," says Moore. "Our government is
going to be focussed on delivering our campaign priorities and
promises, and I know Canadians will be pleased with the results."
Throughout the recent election campaign Prime Minister Harper
stated clearly, time and again, that the new Conservative government
will focus on 5 key priorities: 1) passing a new Federal
Accountability Act, 2) lowering taxes by cutting the GST, 3) helping
families by providing more choice in childcare, 4) passing new laws
to get tough on crime, and 5) addressing healthcare wait times.
"The Conservative governing agenda will be good for Canadians,
good for British Columbians, and good for our community," says
Moore.
On February 7th, Moore was appointed as the
Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Public Works, but his
first priority will be to ensure that his constituents are well
served, and that decisions by the new Conservative government are in
their best interest.
"I will never forget who sent me to Ottawa, and to whom my seat in
the House of Commons belongs: my constituents," says Moore.
"These are very exciting times, and I am proud to serve my
constituents on Prime Minister Harper's team as we follow through on
our campaign promises and work to build a
better Canada."
