Benoît Sauvageau

I was incredibly saddened this afternoon to learn of the passing of Benoît Sauvageau.  I served in Parliament with Benoît for six years, most recently for very long hours on the legislative committed considering the Accountability Act (C-2).  He was an honourable man, a great parliamentarian, and real gentleman.  He always had an intelligent contribution, he was passionate and fiercely loyal to his principles while at the same time he remained what's called a 'happy warrior' - someone proud of his principles and who was quicker to smile than anger, quicker to achieve than critique.  He was a gem, and he will be missed.
